Sports Our school has a great tradition of hurling and has provided hurling talent for both the town of Tullamore and the Offaly county team. We currently have two teams in the school, U-11 and U-13 and have enjoyed great success over the years. We also have one all-star to our name, the great Kevin Martin.
Our tradition of football is equally as good as our hurling, with both U-11 and U-13 teams. Cathal Daly, another all-star footballer was educated here aswell as many other players who have played at underage level for Offaly. Tag Rugby is currently being coached by coaches from the local Tullamore Rugby Club. It is a very good game for the children's hand eye co-ordination. It has proved very popular with the children. Drama The school is involved in the FIS Project .This film in School project has proved very successful in Eoin Phoil. The boys involved get to create,film, act and edit their very own film. Well done to the boys involved in the film "The Queen's Wish" who won an award for Best Set Design at the National Film Awards in the Helix. Homework Club The homework club is run in the school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for an hour. On each of these days, the children receive a sandwich and juice before starting their homework. The teachers are present to give help and support if necessary. Credit Union Quiz Each year, the school enters two teams into the quiz. In the run up to the quizes the boys work very hard in conjunction with teachers. the quiz covers all general knowledge areas, including sport, history, geography, science, music etc |
